Why Doesn't Gilbert Gottfried Do More Shakespeare?

Whoo that was a marathon entry, wasn't it? Don't expect them that long in the future, though they probably will be. Sunday saw some major camerage for me. Went to B&H in the City (Boo-yah) and I've never seen so many Hasidic Jews in my life. Everyone who worked there was rockin' the Jewy lifestyle. It was awesome. Anyway, now I have a mondo camera, so I can finally begin shooting my movie to get into NYU...I just need to finish the screenplay. Now that's a bitch. I think I'm just gonna write all the dialogue down and worry about the other crap later, 'cos all I need the script for is my actors...crap. I need some of those too. Well, all I really need is one, but I still gotta ask around. But since I only know one girl, that should be pretty easy casting. Once we start production I'm gonna have everyone involved get a Blogger ID and I'm gonna create a Movie blog so we have a lasting record of the project (Awwww...doesn't that just sound sooooo sweet?) & I'll tell more about the movie itself then. So that's it. TTFNSTFUAATOS.

Georges Seurat, Seurat

Hooray for 90's nostalgia! "I Love the 90's" is the Best Show Ever since "Best Week Ever." It just reminds you of all the things that happened in the last decade, and stating the obvious is so much fun. Did I miss the part or did they leave out "Seinfeld?" Very strange. That's almost the quintessential 90's show. But it doesn't matter. This is the show that makes Michael Bolton cool again (the look he makes when he stares at the hotties of '9X is priceless) and finally I get to see the black Power Ranger again. But why didn't they didn't talk about "SuperHuman Samurai Syber-Squad?" Beats me. And one other thing. I think they had too many new people on this time. There was definitely a Hal Sparks shortage in "I Love the 90's." In other news, I saw a bootleg copy of The Day After Tomorrow today, and it SSSSSUCKED!!!!!!  Horrible, horrible movie. An example of good actors, good direction, an intriguing story, and great special effects, gone terrifically down the toilet bowl. The movie was absolutely shameful for all parties involved. Ideas for making it better: 1.) Show scenes of all cities affected by the storms. It gets viewers more interested in whats happening if its happening near them. 2.) Don't focus on boring people. That homeless guy was just boring. 3.) Since when does a disaster movie have only 4 main characters? Is Roland Emmerich gettig lazy or something? Remember how many main characters there were in Independence Day? You gotta have people from all over being devastated then coming together or something like that. But that's just me. I also saw Requiem for a Dream today, and I hesitantly say it was great. I don't know why, but it's very hard to place what makes it great, or why it might be called so hesitantly. It was made brillianly; it makes you sympathize with the characters while also making them deplorable people, it really makes you feel what it's like to be addicted to something, whether it be television, heroin, or diet pills, it doesnt have any hokey dialogue but for some reason every time I want to say it's great I stop myself. Perhaps it's the nature of the film; it's so dark and disturbing I don't want to acknowledge it's brilliance. In any case, I've been talking about this for way too long. I've been writing this entry for days, so long, in fact, that there's lots more stuff to write now, but that'll be another entry. So there. Glorgmuffin.

I Want Erik Estrada to Be My Dad

I should say right off the bat that I object to reality shows. I boycott them, in a way. I just don't watch them on general principal. When the first Survivor came on I thought it was the dumbest idea and I refused to watch it, while everyone and their gay uncle watched Richard Hatch win. I don't care about that kind of crap. That being said, I must admit to getting semi-hooked on two (2) reality shows, one an immense guilty pleasure, one not so much. The latter would be "Kenny vs. Spenny" (GSN, Tuesdays and Thursdays, check local listings) and this show is the fucking man. It follows Kenny Hotz and Spencer "Spenny" Rice, two Canuck-buddies and roomies who love to compete against each other in bizarre contests such as "Who Can Stay Up the Longest?" "Who's the Best Fashion Designer?" and "Who Can Earn the Most Money in Three Days?" The loser has to face a humiliating...well, humiliation, from the winner. These have included streaking, drinking coffee boiled with dirty undies, and clipping one's toenails with one's teeth. I hesitate to call it reality tv 'cos its so different from all the other crappy "reality" shows out there. The persomnalities of the two clash beautifully and...well, its just fucking brilliant. My favorite is Kenny 'cos he's so funny and he cheats all the time, and I don't feel like writing any more about it. It's great. Just watch it. Now the second show I've gotten hooked on is a diferent story. It's the Surreal Life. This show is just too fuckin' insane. I got hooked on the second season, which has got Ron Jeremy and his Penis, Traci Bingham, Vanilla Ice, Tammy Fae Bakker, some Real World chick, and my hero, Erik Estrada. This guy is the man. He's older than the rest of the cast so he sort of plays the part of wise father figure. In one episode, the Real World chick was packing to go because Sally Jesse Raphael called her a slut (this show is AWESOME!) and Erik Estrada had a talk with her saying how the rest of the house understands how she's a young chick on the prowl, so to speak, and she has the urge to drink, which they understand, and how no one in the house is judging her and they all want her to stay. I mean, COME ON! That is awesome! Erik Estrada has got to be the best father ever. He's so understanding and caring. He is the best person ever. EVER. Ghandi? Not even close. Einstein? Keep trying. Jesus? Come on, man. Be real. Lincoln, King, Geldof? They're all uncaring bastards next to Erik Estrada. Plus he was in CHiPs. Just remember that the next time someone asks you what celebrity you'd like your Dad to be. So there. Huzzah.

Hepatitis B Is For Sick People

Yay my third post. In all probability nobody will read this for the first few weeks its up. But I thought I'd lay a few ground rules for this site (What ARE ground rules? Does anyone really know? I don't think so. I'm just saying it to sound smart.)First of all, I don't feel the need to update when I have nothing to say, which is often. So don't expect new crap a lot. Also, I don't really talk about whiny crap that happened to me. I'll only talk about really interesting stuff. This is mainly a place for me to vent. I hesitated to make a blog at first, because I hate all the connotations that go along with blogs, but I think it'll be ok.That's it for now, more to come, bla bla bla, miggey moggety moo.

Quentin Tarantino Should be Proud

Coolest Commercial on TV Right Now:
The Coolest Commercial on TV Right Now is a commercial for Benihana, a chain of Japanese restaurants. I'm not sure where they're located; I've never seen one around where I live. Anyway, it starts off with this chick with a katana doing kung-fu and, you know, katana stuff with this Japanese guy in some dojo with an exact copy of 'Battle Without Honor Or Humanity' from Kill Bill Vol. 1 playing in the background, but all the notes go down instead of up. Then I guess the dojo was on the second floor, because she falls out of one of those paper screens onto the first floor or something. BUT THEN...this is the big twist ending...She opens her eyes and she's SITTING AT A TABLE AT BENIHANA. It's INSANE! And plus, the guy she was fighting with...IS THE CHEF!!!! Then he winks at her. It's great. This is one of the greatest commercials I've seen in a while. Seriously. I give it a 9 out of 10, only because the video quality is not so great and that kind of takes you away from the story a bit. And also it would have been cooler if they had actually had the song from Kill Bill in it instead of that copycat music. But, hey, what are you gonna do?

Roman Candles: Fun Toy or Death Trap?

July 4th. Independence Day. Yay. Hoodledee-doo. I really don't see what the big deal is. This is the day we signed the Declaration of Independence. What did this paper say? It said that the people living in America were no longer part of the British Empire. But did the British care? OF COURSE NOT. If I wrote up a paper saying I was now a citizen of the international free sate of Axlawanica, does it mean I am a citizen of this fictional nation or that I am no longer a citizen of the United States? No, it doesn't. The only reason the Declaration of Independence means anything is because we won. If the British had defeated us they would have looked at the paper and laughed. I'm pretty sure they did that anyway. The fact that we emerged victorious from the Revolutionary War gave us license to brag about how we told England we weren't owned by them anymore and they listened. But they didn't. That's the whole problem with Independence Day. We weren't really independent yet on July 4th. And what's so great about fireworks?

                             Mike(voice-over)
Yay, it's July 4th. I get to sit
                    outside on an uncomfortable deck
                    chair getting eaten by mosquitoes
and watching a bunch of colored
lights explode. Sounds like my kind
                    of fun.
[jumps for joy at the idea]

That film's not happening any time soon. Anyway, there's my rant for today. Merry Christmas.
